The Sleeping Souls Releases New Song “Caught Up In The Scrape”
British rock band The Sleeping Souls, consisting of Tarrant Anderson (bass), Matt Nasir (piano), Callum Green (drums), Ben Lloyd (guitar) and Cahir O'Doherty (vocals), released a new song “Caught Up In The Scrape” on January 19, 2023.
The song is the second single off of their upcoming debut album, which is expected to be released this fall.
The track was written by Matt Nasir, Tarrant Anderson, Ben Lloyd and Cahir O'Doherty. Produced by The Sleeping Souls.
The accompanying music was directed by Lukas Rauch.
The band said of the song, “'Caught Up In The Scrape' is a song about utter disillusionment with politics and political leaders. Modern liberal societies are complex webs of trust relations, but trust has bled out through sustained failure of our politics to be fit for purpose. Cahir grew up and has spent most of his life in Northern Ireland where these failures have been, and continue to be, particularly acute. Until our political class are transparent about their shortcomings, acknowledge mistakes and, in the most egregious cases, accept consequences, political agitation will continue to heat until one day - perhaps not too long from now - it will boil.”
The Sleeping Souls is better known as British punk singer-songwriter Frank Turner's touring band.
