Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Daughter Announces New Album “Stereo Mind Game”, Shares New Song “Be On Your Way”
British indie folk trio Daughter, consisting of Elena Tonra (vocals/guitar), Igor Haefeli (guitar) and Remi Aguilella (drums), announced their third studio album “Stereo Mind Game” would be released on April 7, 2023.
It is their first album in seven years since the 2016 album “Not to Disappear”, except the 2017 soundtrack “Music From Before the Storm”.
The track comprises 12-track. The trio shared on social media, “'Stereo Mind Game' was written and recorded in various locations including Devon, Bristol and London (UK), San Diego (CA), Portland (OR) and Vancouver (WA) and produced by Igor and Elena.”
Elena Tonra said in a statement, “It has been in the making for a long time, pieced together delicately (obsessively maybe) over years, trying to make it as complete as it could ever feel. I think it's more optimistic than our past records (but it still has my lyrics.. so.. it's never going to be full sunshine) but I've tried to document experiences, thoughts, feelings, conversations and memories from my life, and hope that we've turned them into something listenable, something positive.”- From the album, the band unveiled the first single called “Be On Your Way” along with a music video on January 6, 2023.
The track was written by Elena Tonra, Igor Haefeli, and Remi Aguilella. Produced by Igor Haefeli.
The accompanying video was directed by Tiff Pritchett.
Elena Tonra said of the song, “A story of love (of course), and of time, distance, missing and letting go. I have been trying to learn across the past few years to value the present moment more. I used to mourn the goodbye of a relationship before it had ended, and that created an overwhelming feeling of fear around loving someone. So i'm trying to be more accepting that things will last for the time they last for. To fully appreciate all the beautiful connections as they enter, and leave, my life.” -
