Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Fool's Union Releases New Song “This Is Heavy”
Canadian rock band Fool's Union, consisting of Adam Cannon (drums), Nick Cino (vocals/guitar), Jon Daly (guitar) and Dave Marini (bass), released a new song “This Is Heavy” along with a music video on December 2, 2022.
The song is the follow-up to “Raven Lake”, which was released back in May.
The track was written and produced by Fool's Union.
The track title is inspired by the 1985 Robert Zemeckis's film “Back To The Future”, where main character Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly used “this is heavy” as meaning of complicated, ponderous, or serious.
The band said of the song, “‘This Is Heavy’ is the result of our experimentation in the studio. In between recording big rock tunes, we worked on smaller songs that had more of an electronic, R&B sort of feel. This tune in particular was written a long time ago, but it’s a song we always wanted to share with the world. The title ‘This Is Heavy’ is a nod to the famous line from ‘Back To The Future’ - we love taking cool lines from movies and writing a song around them. Funnily enough, despite the heavy title, this is actually our least heavy song, and we’re cool with that.”- The band frontman Nick Cino shared on social meida, “It is both a nod to my favourite line from the ‘Back to The Future’ Trilogy and also a just a straight up love song. But it’s not necessarily a romantic love song, it can be about love for anything – people, music, food – anything that brings you comfort at the end of the day. We’re always turning up the amps to 11, but this time we’re chilling the fuck out. We hope you’ll chill with us.”
