American singer-songwriter Olivia O'Brien released her third micro mixtape “A Means To An End” on November 18, 2022.
It is her first project since the 2021 EP “Episodes: Season 1”.
The mixtape comprises 3-track and little visualizers, produced by Nick Ruth and TMS.
The accompanying videos were directed by Max Movish and Jacqueline Kulla.
Olivia O'Brien shared on social media, “this particular song has been in the vault for 3 years, so i'm incredibly excited for it to finally be out.”
She continued, “to be honest, this project is hardly a project at all. i wrote “what are we” in september of 2019 (per the screenshot of me w the mic w the date at the top) and the other two during spring/summer of this year. with absolutely no intention of creating anything cohesive, i accidentally did. that's what the micromixtapes are all about. we threw the visuals together in the most makeshift way possible, at one point iggy had to do my hair with tools plugged into a gas generator and no light. but we did it! although this project is hardly a “project”, we made it into something that fits perfectly together in it's beautiful, imperfect way. i've put an end to this complicated chapter of my life and career, and this is how i got here.”- source : Apple Music
