Yo La Tengo Announces New Album “This Stupid World”, Shares New Song “Fallout”
American indie rock band Yo La Tengo, consisted of Ira Kaplan (guitars, piano, vocals), Georgia Hubley (drums, piano, vocals), and James McNew (bass, vocals), announced the release of a new album “This Stupid World”, which will be released on February 10, 2023 via Matador Records.
It is their first album in three years since the 2020 album “We Have Amnesia Sometimes”.
The album comprises 9-track. The band said in press release, “Of course, times have changed for Yo La Tengo as much as they have for everyone else. In the past, the band has often worked with outside producers and mixers. They made ‘This Stupid World’ all by themselves. And their time-tested judgment is both sturdy enough to keep things to the band’s high standards, and nimble enough to make things new.”
From the album, the band unveiled the first single called “Fallout” on November 3, 2022.
The track was written by Georgia Hubley, Ira Kaplan, and James McNew. Produced by Yo La Tengo.
Ira Kaplan said of the song, “I want to fall out of time. Reach back, unwind.”
The band embarks on North America, the UK and European tour in 2023, with a total of 40 shows. The tour kicks off at Neptune Theatre in Seattle, WA on February 15, 2023.
