Olivia Dean Premieres New Song “Danger” BBC Radio 1
- London-based singer-songwriter Olivia Dean premiered a new song “Danger” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The track was written by Olivia Dean, Ilsey Juber, Tre Jean-Marie and Nathaniel Ledwidge. Produced by Tre Jean-Marie and DetoNate.
The accompanying music video was directed by Malin Osafo.
Olivia Dean told of the song, “This song is about falling in love. Because falling in love is really scary. Like being vulnerable with someone and just giving 'Hey', all of me. And I think actually when it's with someone that's good for you. It's like well damn, might go for what's gonna happen with us. And that, to me is scary. It's dangerous, it's exciting.”
She continued, “I think I haven't put out music in like a year. I've been finishing an album. And I wrote this song and I was just like, this is so fun. And sometimes I find it really hard to just let go and have fun. And I have this complex about things needing to be complicated to be good and gotta be moody. And I was like, it is fun, put it out, let go. So it really just symbolizes for me in my life, this letting go of perfectionism, and just being like.”
