Mura Masa Announces New Album “demon time”, Premieres New Song “blessing me” featuring Pa Salieu & Skillibeng on BBC Radio 1
- British electronic music producer Alexander Crossan, aka Mura Masa announced his third studio album “demon time” would be released on September 16, 2022.
It is his first album in two years since the 2020 album “R.Y.C”.
Originally, the album was called "Fun", which was written during lockdown after the cancellation of his European tour due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Mura Masa thought people would need, “vicarious, escapist music now.” he said of the album in a statement. “So that's where this demon time idea came from – how do we soundtrack the 1am to 5am period where you start doing stupid shit that you don't regret but wouldn't do again when it emerges again post-lockdown?”
From the album he premiered a new song “blessing me” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
He teamed up with British rapper Skillibeng on the track.
It was written by Alexander Crossan, Emwah Warmington and Pa Salieu Gaye. Produced by Mura Masa.
Mura Masa told Clara Amfo, “We were working together my home studio. I think this was the last thing we did. It was just like the very last beat we were like on our way out the door basically.”
Pa Salieu added, “When we make a song, it is a different kind of feeling. The energy is there. It was just a very organic session, and also the first time.”
