American symphonic rock duo Shadow Academy, consisting of Ninja Sex Party's Dan Avidan and American multi-instrumentalist producer Jim Roach, released their self-titled debut album on April 22, 2022.
The album comprises 12-track, including preceding singles “White Whale”, “Once And Never More” and “Invisible”.
The songs written by Jim Roach, Dan Avidan, Jack VanDerPol, Nate VanDerPol, Jerik Centeno and Eric Kilian.
The duo started to make the album during the COVID-19 pandemic and exchanged musical ideas remotely until safety.
“The beginning of 2020 was a pretty harrowing experience for everyone as parts of society shut down, and the desire to stay creative amidst all that slow chaos started to become really intense as 2020 and 2021 went on,” Dan Avidan told HollywoodLife. “Jim and I were fortunate that we could exchange musical ideas remotely until things were safe enough to get together and record the album.”
Jim Roach said, “This album is a labor of love and was made to be listened to all the way through on headphones; or throw it on your record player and go on the fifty minute ride. Let it play a little movie in your head. My ultimate hope is that this is how people will receive it. It requires a little time and attention but it's well worth it, I think.”- source : Apple Music
