Grimes Releases New Song “Player of Games”
Canadian singer-songwriter Grimes released a new song “Player of Games” on December 3, 2021.
The song follows up “A Drug From God”, which was released on November 12th, by the AI girl group that Grimes recently launched.
According to the press release, the project will allow blend “generative characters and music, [different] types of animation, AI-assisted art as well as spiritual technology”, and will allow Grimes to “create as other people in order to reduce the psychic pain of being in the public eye”.
She first performed the song at the virtual reality festival Splendour XR back in July.
After that, she posted preview of the song to TikTok as “some kind of Marie Antoinette-esque symbol for inequality in the pop stan community”.
On November 18th, the track fully debuted as the theme song for the vehicular sports video game “Rocket League”.
“Player of Games” will appear on her upcoming sixth studio album. Grimes said, “by far my greatest work that I’ve ever done. I actually just made the last song for it two nights ago.”- source : Apple Music
