Maisie Peters Releases New Song “Volcano”
- British singer-songwriter Maisie Peters unveiled a new song “Volcano” from her upcoming debut album “You Signed Up For This” on August 18, 2021.
She wrote the song with Brad Ellis, Jez Ashurst and Maisie Peters. Produced by Jez Ashurst and Bradford Ellis.
Maisie Peters shared on social media, “volcano, it’s the last one you’ll hear from the album before the whole thing is out on the 27th, and is also one of my favourites. the whole song is about a quiet seething burning rage that u push down, resentment and bitterness and confusion for how some people never seem to face the consequences of their actions, how they just get away with it, and how impossible it can feel to get over that. this song is so important to me and has been one that i’ve held so close to me since i made it last august.”
The debut album is set to be released on August 27, 2021.
Also she shared an acoustic version of the song on August 19th. She said, “volcano, recorded this acoustic version with joel a few weeks ago and that day i was actually pretty sad and caught up in my own head which i think ended up giving this performance something distinct and intangible and perfect maybe that’s just me tho hehe. this whole song is about resentment and anger and never getting to say what u wanted to say and it’s the last song u will hear from the album until the whole thing is out which is so strange to say but i rlly am excited <3 i wrote it with Brad Baloo and Jez Ashurst who i wrote place we were made with (coincidently it’s pwwm 4th birthday today) and i got one of my closest friends Gretta Ray to add backing vocals to it which she turned around in 24 hours all the way from sydney. this song was made with so much love and care and i hope u can hear that and i hope ur excited for the album have i already said that maybe idk !!! exciting !!”
