American singer-songwriter Alec Benjamin performed “Death of a Hero” at El Rey Theatre Los Angeles, California.
He played it with a guitarist John Mayer. Also, the duo performed John Mayer's classic “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room” together.
Earlier this year, Alec Benjamin contacted with his idle John Mayer via social media.
“I sent John a message on Instagram like, ‘That’s crazy.’ But I realized I had sent him a message eight months before being like ‘Yo, I’m a huge fan, I love you, hope that I can meet you one day.'” Alec Benjamin said. “I talked to him all the time, actually. He sent me a bunch of voice memos of new song ideas.”
“Death of a Hero” was released last August from his second album “Narrated for You”.- After the show, he wrote on Instagram, “quick update… heroes do exist. last night was a dream come true. thank you @johnmayer for joining me on stage & for inspiring me to make music. you are one of the most talented, humble, & generous human beings i have ever met. i love you & i feel very lucky to have you in my life.”
