BARE ROOTS Premieres Debut Song “Ride The Wave” on SoundCloud
Newcastle-based English alt-rock band BARE ROOTS released a debut song “Ride The Wave” on March 15, 2019.
The sound is combine '80s soundscapes with '90s R&R, featuring cool guitar riffs and soulful vocals.
The song was recorded recorded and produced in the band’s DIY home studio. Despite BARE ROOTS is British band, their music is close to American rock.
BARE ROOTS is composed of Anthony Francis (vocals, guitar), Joe Anderson (bass) and Martin Corkhill (drums) and Ollie Petrie (guitar).
“We don't conform to the idea of appealing to a particular scene. The best acts transcend genres. We just want our music to reach an audience. Who they are, doesn't matter," Anthony Francis explained. “'RIDE THE WAVE' is our introduction to the world. There's nothing better than hearing a tune for the first time and feeling like you have to keep pressing play."
Anthony Francis, Joe Anderson and Martin Corkhill are school mates. “Three of us have been making music together for 11 years now. We love to write tunes and we feel like we've found our own process. We write and record all of our own material. I believe we're equipped to offer the world something.”- “We love the idea of people being entertained. Every song sounding the same live doesn't cut it for us,” he added. “I think people will be surprised at what we have to offer live. We love the idea of putting on a show which showcases lots of different elements. There'll be quiet sombre moments, big moments and guest appearances. We want to offer something you may not expect from a rock act and it will be an experience for sure.”
The band will appear on This Is Tomorrow at Exhibition Park in Newcastle on May 24, 2019. The festival features Foals, You Me At Six, Nothing But Thieves, KAWALA, The Pale White, Bad Sounds and The Old Pink House, among others.
