Demi Lovato Premieres New Song “Sober”
- American singer-songwriter Demi Lovato has dropped a new song “Sober” from her upcoming as-yet-untitled seventh studio album.
The track was written by Demi Lovato, Mark Landon, RØMANS and Tushar Apte. The sound is close to her 2011's "Skyscraper".
The song is her confession about facing recent challenges regarding her six-year sobriety.
Recently, she revealed to struggle with drugs and alcohol for several years. She started treatment and counseling for her addictions, leading to her move to a sober-living facility in Los Angeles in 2012.
In September 2017, she was honored with the “Spirit of Sobriety” award at the Brent Shapiro Foundation for Drug Prevention Summer Spectacular in Beverly Hills.
She said at the time;
“Every day is a battle. You just have to take it one day at a time, some days are easier than others and some days you forget about drinking and using, but for me, I work on my physical health, which is important, but my mental health as well.”
- Recently, she joined in Christina Aguilera's "Fall in Line", Clean Bandit's "Solo" and Marshmello's "Love Don't Let Me Go". Also she participated in Elton John 's tribute album "Revamp: Reimagining the Songs of Elton John & Bernie Taupin", where she performed "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" along with Q-Tip.
She has currently toured the Tell Me You Love Me World Tour in Europe and North America through to July 2018. In September, she will resume the tour in Latin America.
