Savvie Premieres New Music Video for “Creature of Habit”
- Vancouver-based singer-songwriter Savannah Wellman, aka Savvie is back. She debuted a new song “Creature of Habit” on June 8th. Three days later, she dropped a music video for the song, directed by Kaayla Whachell. The video was premiered exclusively on Billboard.
The song is her first music since 2015's debut album "Night Eyes". But recently, her song "Without You", included on her debut album, was used on Fox TV "Gotham".
“Creature of Habit” was written by Savannah Leigh Wellman and Nygel Asselin.
She told Billboard about the song, "I can't live without making music; I'm definitely THAT creature of habit. Music for me is always going to be a really important part of my life, so being able to have that release is just a crucial part of my existence as a happy human being."
She added about the video, "a take on the idea of struggling with trying to be different. It kind of takes us through a cleansing, the idea of wanting to let go and cleanse yourself of these habits that you might hold onto, but at the end seeing in your reflection that they never really leave you. It's still a part of you, and maybe in some cases it's not all that bad. Some habits can get the best of you, and sometimes they're the release you need."
- She plans to release more three songs, produced by John Raham, this year, as well as creating her forthcoming sophomore album (yet-untitled).
"I've definitely always been an album person in the past, going in with a vision and a vibe and trying to create a batch of songs around it," she explains. "So this is challenging in some ways but also fun. It gives me a little more freedom to be more creative or a little bit more experimental and let (the songs) sound a bit different and have a life of their own without having to fit on an album."
