Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Era Istrefi Premieres New Song “Prisoner”
Back in May, Kosovar singer-songwriter Era Istrefi worked with Diplo and released 2018 World Cup Russia official song "Live It Up" along with Will Smith and Nicky Jam.
Following "Live It Up", she released a new song “Prisoner” on June 6th. The song was premiered exclusively on Billboard.
The track is reggae sound, and written by Emily Warren and Scott Harris.
Era Istrefi is known for her smash hit "BonBon" the released in 2016. Following the song's success she signed to Sony Music and Ultra Music. Also, she won the European Border Breakers Award in 2017.
Era Istrefi said of the song;
“I grew up listening to reggae records, so when I heard a demo of ‘Prisoner,’ written by Emily Warren and Scott Harris, I felt the song is so relatable to me, with just incredible melodies and lyrics I identify with.
