Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ John Mayer Premieres New Song “New Light” on Apple Beats 1
American singer-songwriter and guitarist John Mayer appeared on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 radio show, where he premiered a new song "New Light".
The song is his first single released in 2018 and written by No I.D. and John Mayer. It follows up his 2017 studio album "The Search for Everything".
On Beats 1 radio show, he announced "more new music" for 2018. Last year, he joined in Ed Sheeran's album "÷ (divide)", where he performed "How Would You Feel (Paean)".
He has spent much of the past few years on the road. Back in 2016, Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann, who are surviving members of the Grateful Dead, formed Dead & Company with John Mayer.
Originally, Bob Weir invited John Mayer to their Fare Thee Well: Celebrating 50 Years of the Grateful Dead tour in 2015.
Since then, Dead & Company toured the US in 2016 and 2017. In January 2018, Dead & Company announced their Dead & Company Summer Tour 2018.
The tour kicks off at Xfinity Center in Mansfield on May 30th and consists of total of 26 concerts in 20 different U.S. cities.
