Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Lana Del Rey Covers Madonna's “You Must Love Me”
American singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey covered Madonna's “You Must Love Me”, which arrived on March 5th. She collaborated with English composer Andrew Lloyd Webber.
The song is included on Andrew Lloyd Webber's upcoming album "Unmasked: The Platinum Collection", which features songs from his world-famous musicals as well as previously unreleased collectibles and new music. The album is due out March 16th.
“You Must Love Me” was written by Andrew Lloyd Webber for the film adaptation of "Evita" in 1976 and originally performed by Madonna.
The song won the Academy Award for Best Original Song, and the film received three Golden Globe Awards for Best Picture – Comedy or Musical, Best Original Song and Best Actress – Comedy or Musical.
Lana Del Rey said, “[He] has been one of my primary inspirations in music, so to do a cover of one of his songs is a dream.”
She will resume "LA to the Moon Tour" at Hipódromo de San Isidro in Buenos Aires on March 17th. The tour takes place in South America, Oceania and Europe through to April 20th.
