American singer-songwriters Alicia Keys and Kelly Clarkson covered Nina Simone's “Feeling Good” in a new promotion video for the new season of “The Voice USA”, which premieres next Monday, February 26th on NBC.
On the program, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Alicia Keys appear on as coaches and they’ll be joined by Kelly Clarkson, who’s making her debut as coach for the show’s 2018 season.
“Feeling Good” was written by English composers Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse for the musical "The Roar of the Greasepaint – The Smell of the Crowd".
The song was first performed on stage in 1964 by Cy Grant on the UK tour. Nina Simone recorded the song in 1965 for her album "I Put a Spell on You".
Originally, it was not released as a single, but Volkswagen used it in their a British TV commercial. Then the song was released as the single in 1994. It reached No. 40 on the UK Singles Chart.
The song has also been covered by Traffic, Michael Bublé, John Coltrane, George Michael, Victory, Eels, Joe Bonamassa, EDEN and the rock band Muse.- hulkqR4EBH4
