English singer-songwriters Ed Sheeran and Anne-Marie appeared on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, where they covered The Pogues' “Fairytale of New York".
Also both artists performed their latest songs "Perfect" and "Heavy", respectively.
“Fairytale of New York" was first released as a single on November 23, 1987 by their band The Pogues, featuring singer-songwriter Kirsty MacColl on vocals. It was written by Jem Finer and Shane MacGowan.
The song was certified platinum in the UK in 2013 and has sold 1.18 million copies in the UK. It is the most-played Christmas song of the 21st century.
Ed Sheeran's "Perfect" was released from his third album "÷ (divide)" on September 26. The song reaced number one on the UK Singles Chart.
On December 1st, he released a new version titled "Perfect Duet", with American singer Beyoncé. It was written by Ed Sheeran and Beyoncé (Beyoncé duet version).
Anne-Marie's "Heavy" was released fron her upcoming debut studio album on September 22. The song was produced by The Invisible Men, Nana Rogues, Jonathan White, Team Salut and MNEK. The track follows up British electronic music duo Snakehips' "Either Way". She joined in the song as guest vocals along with American rapper Joey Badass.
