- U2 Performs Latest Songs “American Soul” and “Get Out Of Your Own Way” on Saturday Night Live
- Irish rock band U2 appeared on Saturday Night Live, where the band performed their latest songs “American Soul” and “Get Out Of Your Own Way”.
This marks the fourth time The band has been the musical guest on Saturday Night Live. This time, an host was Irish actress Saoirse Ronan.
Both songs are included on their fourteenth studio album "Songs of Experience", which was released on December 1st, 2017.
Especially, this is the very first time the band has sung “American Soul” on TV. The song was written by Bono and composed by U2.
“Get Out Of Your Own Way” was released as the second single from the new album. The track features American rapper and songwriter Kendrick Lamar.
U2 performed the song for the second time on TV. They first performed it during the MTV Europe Music Awards.
Before TV performances, the band performed the song's acoustic version on a New York City street underneath the High Line, an elevated park and trail built where a railroad had previously been. The band shared the video on their Facebook.
U2 will embark the tour called "Experience + Innocence Tour" in support of the new album on May 2, 2018. The tour takes place in North America and concludes at Newark on June 29, with a total of 26 shows.
