- Hamish Anderson Releases New Music Video for “U”
- Australian blues rock guitarist and singer-songwriter Hamish Anderson has shared a new music video for “U” directed by Nicolas Wendl.
The video was premiered on October 23, 2017. The track is included on his debut album "Trouble", which was released in 2016, following previous single "Hold On Me".
It was produced by Grammy award winning producer Jim Scott. It debuted on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic and was #5 on MBE's Top 10 tracks for the week of Octover 7, 2017. Additionally, it was named "Best of Week" on Apple Music in Australia and Japan. Upon release, Songpickr selected "U" for their curated "Best of 2017" playlist.
The song reminds us of Jimi Hendrix's "Hey Joe".
About the debut album, Hamish Anderson said;
“Jim had worked on a lot of albums from the ’90s and 2000s that I really, really love. Wildflowers by Tom Petty is, for me, the example of a perfect album. Jim’s the real deal.
We wanted to do the majority of it live, with very few overdubs—get a really great band together and have it be about the songs, not about spending so much time on how the bass drum sounds. It was capturing, warts and all, the live thing. Rock music and blues music shouldn’t be perfect, and I’m really proud that there’s no Auto-Tune on it, that nothing was done to a click track.”
- Hamish Anderson debuted with his first single Howl" in 2013. In the same year, he released a debut EP "Self Titled". His second EP "Restless" was released in 2014.
He has shared the stage with B.B. King, also he was the last person to open a show for B.B. King before he died.
In 2015, he received Best Blues Song at the Independent Music Awards with his single "Burn".
He released the debut album "Trouble" on October 21, 2016 and named as one of the 10 Best New Artists of 2016 by Yahoo! Music.
He toured in support the debut album in North America including Firefly Music Festival in 2017.
