In 2016, the band premiered a music video for “Summer Wind” online. The video was created for NPR's Tiny Desk Contest 2016. The song was written by Nate Weiner.
The debut EP is focused thematically on the symbolism of nature based imagery, depicting serene feeling.
Frontman Nate Weiner said of the recording process for the EP, “The calming influence of nature in LA has been a huge musical inspiration to us.”
In addition to “Summer Wind”, the EP includes other songs “Mountain” and “Fighting The Night”. The EP is expected to be released in November 2017.
The band will perform live at Hotel Cafe on November 9th to celebrate the release of their new EP.
LA River Bend was formed in 2012, consisting of Emily Elkin (Cello/Vocals), Jacob Seldes (Drums), Branden Stroup (Bass/Vocals/Guitar) and Nate Weiner (Vocals/Guitar).
Originally, Nate Weiner had recorded his solo album “Ride The Sun” with long time friend Branden Stroup and Emily Elkin. Addition, Jacob Seldes as Drums joined in his album. Nate Weiner explained, “The addition of Seldes to the band is immeasurable, because I think our sound would have been less dimensional without his style of drumming.” After recording, they started the band as LA River Bend.
