American rock band Foxy Shazam's vocalist Eric Nally has released a new music video for "Ruby". The video was premiered exclusively on Billboard, and co-directed by Eric Nally and Jaakko Manninen.
The track is the first single off his upcoming debut EP "Madville" and written by Eric Nally and Pom Pom, who featured in the video.
About the video, Eric Nally told Billboard in an interview:
"I basically do all the creative visionary. ... I write the treatment, I work hand-in-hand with the director, and both the videos we've done so far, for "Ruby" and the second one for "Believe," they were both done in a similar way.
We did "Ruby" in Los Angeles three months ago, and on the day I got there it was the storm of the century and it never really rains in L.A. The video has a dark vibe, so that added to the production value. It was a blessing in disguise. Sinkholes were happening, it felt pretty creepy. The Easter egg is that the girl in the video is my partner who I wrote the song with, Pom Pom, who is a new producer from New York who I met through my publishing team."
Eric Nally is better known as frontman of Foxy Shazam, who disbanded in 2014. Also he is known as co-writer for Grammy-winning hip-hop duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis's "Downtown", in which he performed as guest vocals. He and the duo toured together in 2016.
He plans to release his debut solo EP "Madville" later in 2017, along with Pom Pom.- source : Billboard
