Parliamo Releases New Song “Echo In My Chamber” from New EP “The Parliamo Manifesto”
- Scotland based alt-pop band Parliamo, consisting of Jack Dailly (vocals), Finn Freeburn Morrison (guitar), Fraser Nicholson (bass), Mairi Sutherland (keyboards), Calum Simpson (guitar) and Andrew Haxton (drums), has released a new song “Echo In My Chamber” from their upcoming EP “The Parliamo Manifesto”.
The track was produced by Guy Galactic. The accompanying music video was filmed by Parliamo and edited by Jamie Logie.
Parliamo said of the song, “Echo In My Chamber is a story of infatuation rather than love, with the lyrics telling of a dichotomy within yourself as you struggle with how you really feel about someone. The chorus is essentially a conversation with oneself, as you grapple to remind yourself not to get too carried away too quickly.”
The band continued, “This one's our absolute favourite. Influenced by hip-hop's sampling of 60's soul records, we've sampled and amended a Marlene Shaw string arrangement, adapting it for filthy soaring guitar riff purposes.”
The new EP is the culmination of over a year's songwriting and is a bold statement of intent from the 6 piece.
Employing a charming tongue-in-cheek approach to some of the slightly darker aspects of life which young people face today, the record touches on the complications of religious pressure.
The EP is set to be released on October 7, 2021 via Modern Sky.
