The Lighthouse And The Whaler Releases New Song “When We Meet”
- American alt-rock band The Lighthouse And The Whaler, consisting of Michael LoPresti, Matthew LoPresti and Mark Porostosky, released a new song “When We Meet” on April 9, 2021.
The song follows up the 2020 single “Say What It Is You Believe In” and came out of the writing process for their upcoming fourth studio album.
Also, the band describes that the song came out of a pandemic era. Lead vocalist Michael LoPresti said of the song, “For me When We Meet is a song about changing perspectives. It's about focusing on a simpler mindset, making every moment count, and caring more for the people I'm with than the things I can achieve alone. It's been easy for me to get distracted in life but the last year has taught me, and I'm sure many of us, that the people we can't live without far outweigh anything else we could ever have.”
- He told Atwood Magazine about the new album, “It's a sort of a testament to all the demoing and writing we did. We wrote a lot for this record and demoed a lot of songs, to find the ones that really said what we wanted them to say, but also felt the best and we thought would make a full album. Something that was a story but also a tangible collection that we could pass on, not just a single thing but a full piece of art that is for whoever listens to it – or whoever wants to listen to it.”
