The Fratellis Releases New Song “Action Replay”
- Scottish rock band The Fratellis unveiled a new song “Action Replay” from their upcoming sixth studio album “Half Drunk Under a Full Moon” on January 8, 2021.
The accompanying music video features British actor Rory J. Saper, who is best known for his role in the teen drama series “Find Me In Paris” by Hulu.
The video is sequel to previous video for “Six Days In June”, which was released last June.
The new album was supposed to be released on October 30, 2020. But the album and the UK tour have been postponed due to the COVID-19.
Finally, the album is set to be released on April 9, 2021.
“We had a whole year of work ahead of us that didn't take place, but we knew it was going to start again,” frontman Jon Fratelli said. “As a band that has a loyal audience, we know we are in a fortunate position."
He added, “People absolutely want to go to concerts again. It just happened that we made an album that could fit this mood of joy and liberation.”
- The album comprises of 10-track. It is their first LP in three years.
For the LP, he thought of colors and wrote songs based on those Jon Fratelli wanted to incorporate on the album.
“I was hearing music in color,” he told American Songwriter last June. “But the bigger point was that I wanted to write certain colors. I felt like we needed a lilac song, so I wrote a lilac song. That was pretty intense and it hasn't happened since. Recording that way created the most labor-intensive record that we have ever made. I'm not sure I would do that again. It pushed me, personally, as close to the line as I think I could get. But I'm pretty sure it was worth it.”
