Jonathan Roy Shares New Music Video for “Lost”
- Canadian singer-songwriter Jonathan Roy shared a new music video for “Lost” on December 31, 2020.
The song was released on December 4th as his fourth single of 2020, following “Lights of Los Angeles”, “Delicate” and “Breathe Me”.
It was written by Jonathan Roy, Jason “JVP” Van Poederooyen and Brian Howes.
Jonathan Roy said of the song, “Many of us have been lost in our lives and some more than once. It's a terrifying thing to encounter and some of us have to go through it alone. The feeling of emptiness, confusion and not knowing what road to take really takes a toll on you. Everything seems to be falling apart around you and the walls that kept you safe are crumbling down.”
He continued, “I wrote this song about a friend of mine who I helped get into rehab. I couldn't let him keep going down the dark road he was on so I had to call an intervention. I had no idea how he would take it and was afraid of losing my friendship. That night turned out to be one of of the most important and life-changing moments of both our lives. You can insert your own life story into these words. This is for anyone who's lost and for the ones that have helped others find their way.”
- The video was directed by Samuel Gauthier, who shot it in the Magdalen islands.
Jonathan Roy said, “To start the new year I have something very special for you. My team and I have been working on this for the last month. With a great deal of blood, sweat and tears we are now ready to show you this beautiful piece of art, directed again by my good friend Samuel Gauthier. We are very proud of what we have created and hope that you all love it! May 2021 be an amazing year full of "Love" and good mental/physical "Health". After canceled plans, Covid restrictions, postponed ferries and snowstorms, here is our official video for "Lost". It was shot in my home Province in the Magdalen islands.”
