British singer-songwriter Sam Smith released his third studio album “Love Goes” on October 30, 2020.
The album contains 17-track, featuring guest appearances from Burna Boy, Labrinth, Normani, Demi Lovato and Calvin Harris.
The album was originally titled “To Die For”, but he changed the album title to “Love Goes”. Also, the album was supposed to be released in June 2020, but it has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sam Smith said, “The album had the word 'die' in the title, which I just felt really uncomfortable with, with what's happening [coronavirus] and it's so important for me to be sensitive to my fans and to people listening to my music. This has been a really sad and awful time for us, so I've changed the album title, I'm going to change the album cover.”
He wrote the songs when he was the age of 26-28. The album is based on piano sounds, featuring his emotional and soulful vocals like gospel or classical sound.
He said, “This album is a collection of songs I've written over the last two years.Each song a separate story. The last two years have been the most experimental time of my life, personally but also musically. Every time I went into the studio I promised myself I would shoot for the stars and have no limitations. The result has been so magical and so therapeutic and FUN. My love for music is so broad and all of my musical guilty pleasures became pleasures. No guilt, no shame, just the love of singing and creating and dancing. After it all I still believe love is the answer. And with love in our hearts and kindness in our words and actions, we sing on.”
On the same day of releasing the album, he performs to celebrate the release of Love Goes at Abbey Road Studios.- D79YLpiY2uI

Last year, he said of the album in an interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe, “I'd say [this was] the first proper time I've been actually heartbroken. That feeling of they're gone, you can't sleep, the really, really bad feeling. The others were the idea of it and it was pure unrequited love. This, I would like to say that we loved each other. So, I definitely, definitely loved him. So yeah, it was proper.”- source : Apple Music
