Miley Cyrus & Noah Cyrus Perform “I Got So High That I Saw Jesus” at MTV Unplugged
- American singer-songwriter Miley Cyrus invited her sister Noah Cyrus as a guest at her Backyard Sessions for MTV Unplugged.
The sisters performed Noah Cyrus' song “I Got So High That I Saw Jesus”.
The song was released by Noah Cyrus back in March. Noah Cyrus said of the song, We [Noah and songwriter Peter Harding] didn't write the song for a certain belief system or one religion. It's for anybody and everybody. It's also not specifically about shoving marijuana in your face. I'm just explaining my experience of, yes, I've had times where substances have made me come to a self-realization, a come-to-Jesus moment, of things that I just need to be aware of. We are going through such a hard time on this planet right now that I wanted to really bring it back to my roots and be as Nashville as I can be.”
Before MTV's performance, Miley Cyrus announced her forthcoming seventh studio album “Plastic Hearts” is out next month.
She said, “Thought I had it all figured out. Not just the record with its songs and sounds but my whole fucking life. But no one checks an ego like life itself. Just when I thought the body of work was finished… it was ALL erased. Including most of the musics relevance. Because EVERYTHING had changed.”
She continued, “If it were a chapter in my book I guess I would call it “The Beginning” which usually when something is over we call it “The End”. But it was far from that. In triumph and gratitude I present to you my 7th studio record, Plastic Hearts.”
