The Brevet Releases New Song “Strange Days”
- American alt-rock band The Brevet has released a new song “Strange Days” along with a music video directed by Aric Chase Damm.
The song is the title track from their upcoming EP, which is out November, following recent single “Roses”. The EP is their first project in two years since the second album “Legs”.
The track features folk, surf, and R&B influence sound. Frontman Aric Chase Damm said, “Many are saying it, all of us are thinking it, “these are strange days”. Like many, I can't help but feel off during this time. This song, to me, is not JUST about our current situations of being lost and trying to focus on the future or past but about all the times a generation looks back and reflects on “the good old days” or when times were “simpler”. I find perspective to be an unusual thing, especially when we take for granted times we are actually living in.”
He explained about the video, “This came together so fast! Shot on iphones in about 2 1/2 hours down in Corona Del Mar (Newport Beach, CA). We really wanted to capture the vibe of this song which, melodically is uplifting and has summer/ old surf rock feels but the lyrical content being more on the heavy side.”
