  • Trade Secrets Premieres New Song “Burning Daylight”

  • Los Angeles-based synth pop project Trade Secrets has unveiled a new song “Burning Daylight”.
The 80s inspired track is the first taste from their upcoming EP “These Other Lives Part 1”, which is set to be released on July 10, 2020 via Distortion Productions.
The band said of the song, “Burning Daylight is an ode to the night-world and the transformative power of the dark, in this case inspired by a descent into the after-hours club culture of Berlin: chemical-fueled surrender, love on the margins, the thrill of burning the candle at both ends—the heady pursuit of life on the tantalizing edge of self-destruction. Time is short, and the time is now.”
The EP follows up “Golden Life”. It is their first EP in three years. Band member Mike Venezia shares in their press release, “Sonically, this new body of work focuses more on space, texture, tension and release, all leading to a more dynamic, dramatic effect.”
  • Also, the band will release the EP “These Other Lives Part 2” later this year. Both EPs will be combined into a limited edition CD which will feature tracks that are unique to the physical version.
The band founder F.J. DeSanto said, “I think with this project, we have hit upon what I feel is not only the best version of Trade Secrets, but the best collection of music I’ve ever done. These songs are laser-focused and I think we have spent the last three years building to this moment. It’s all come together perfectly. I have always felt that my best skill is to bring out the best in very talented people, almost like a conductor of sorts, and we have truly found our groove together. I’ve been very lucky to have these guys step up once again to deliver something that I feel is a declaration of what Trade Secrets truly is.”
