Ryn Weaver Premieres New Song “Reasons Not To Die (Demo)”
New York/Los Angeles based singer-songwriter Ryn Weaver has shared a new song “Reasons Not To Die (Demo)”.
The song is her first new release since her debut album "The Fool" in 2015. It was written by Max Hershenow & Ryn Weaver.
Originally, the song was written as an apology to her friends on her birthday in a depressive episode and is a demo version.
The track is the latest cut off of Neon Gold/Atlantic Records' forthcoming 10th anniversary compilation album "NGX: Ten Years of Neon Gold", which is out September 28th.
Also NEON GOLD X: CELEBRATING 10 YEARS will take place at Knockdown Center in New York on September 29th, where Marina, BROODS, The Knocks, Matt Maeson, LPX, Alex Winston, Your Smith and St. Lucia will perform live.- She wrote about the song on Instagram:
"So I put out a little demo last night called Reasons Not to Die. I wrote it a year ago with my amazing friend @alexmaax at the helm, after a very testing quarter life crisis, and honestly a fear of releasing music again. It was the first thing I wrote after a bit of an existential melt down, with the first person I felt comfortable writing with. I wasn’t really into putting it out because it felt pretty raw and I wasn’t sure that people would care (plus it’s pretty heavy). My good friends at @neongoldrecords were kind enough to pressure me into releasing the demo on their 10 year anniversary compilation and I obliged with my heels in the dirt... But the response so far has been nothing short of miraculous, you guys are AMAZING and I have missed you so much. Thank you for sharing so many of your stories with me. .
The song was originally written as an apology to my friends @zach_solomonnyc , @fuego_z , and @abxyles for being an ass hat on my birthday in the thick of a depressive episode, and not allowing all of the good to cut through my mental sludge. It’s a thank you and an apology to all of the people I love who have loved me through a very transitive period and stayed by my side regardless of my wild child antics. Lol.
