Grace VanderWaal Releases New Song “What's Left Of Me”
American singer-songwriter Grace VanderWaal released her brand new song “What's Left Of Me” along with a music video on September 18, 2024.
The song is the follow-up to “Call It What You Want”, which was released last month.
Both songs will appear on her upcoming sophomore album, but a release date hasn't been announced yet.
Grace VanderWaal told Elvis Duran's Daily Highlight about the album, “It's done. it's wrapped up with a bow. There is a date, but it's not announced yet. There's like, a whole like, strategic plan.”
The track was written by Grace VanderWaal, John Bookhout Riley, and Tiffany Stringer. Produced by Jack Riley.
The accompanying music video was directed by Francesca Maldonado.
Grace VanderWaal said of the song, “'What's Left of Me' is a track about feeling as though you're a breathing legacy of a fallen relationship. Everything about me is in some way directly or indirectly caused by you. An in-escapable touch, acid burned kiss, I'll never be the girl I was before. It's a robbery of identity.”- She shared on social media, “This song means a lot to me. I had been feeling the presence of a past person so deeply I realized they were embedded into who I will be going forward, forever. Whats left of me, as in, how is my individuality defined excluding you. Am I now this morphed figure of the both of us? Am I now just a breathy legacy of a fallen relationship? What about me is left untampered by you. I love you guys, please enjoy.”
