Bloc Party Returns With New Song “Flirting Again”
British rock band Bloc Party, consisting of Kele Okereke (vocals/rhythm guitar), Russell Lissack (lead guitar), Louise Bartle (drums) and Harry Deacon (bass), returned with a new song “Flirting Again” on June 25, 2024.
The song is the first music since the 2023 EP “The High Life”, which was released last July.
It was written by Harry Deacon, Kele Okereke, Louise Bartle, and Russell Lissack. Produced by Charlie Andrew.
“'Flirting Again' is about being thrust back into the scene and trying to remember how it all works,” the band frontman Kele Okereke said of the song in a press release. “It's about trying to appear desirable, whilst at the same time hiding the hurt that defines you. We are all carrying around the various scars that we have accumulated over the years, the heartbreaks that have come to shape how we give love and receive love. This song is about picking yourself up and carrying on.”- The band will perform at Glastonbury Festival 2024 this weekend, and embarks on 20 Years of Bloc Party show at The Telegraph Building in Belfast on July 4, 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland on July 5, and Crystal Palace Park in London on July 7, 2024.
