  • Rita Wilson Releases New Song “Set You Free”

  • American singer-songwriter and actress Rita Wilson, who is also known as American actor Tom Hanks' wife, has released the first single of 2024 called “Set You Free”.

Earlier this month, Rita was named one of QVC's first-ever Quintessential 50, comprised of 50 authentic and inspiring female celebrities, activists, business leaders, and lifestyle experts who exemplify the possibilities of life over 50.
She wrote the song to celebrate Quintessential 50.
The track was written by Lindgren, Melanie Fontana, and Rita Wilson. Produced by Lindgren.

Rita Wilson said of the song, “I have always believed that we limit ourselves by what we think is possible. Anything positive starts with what’s inside our own heads. I have seen people do extraordinary things because they had no doubt they could.Every day we are alive gives us a chance to try something new.”
  • She continued, “The Age of Possibility is a platform QVC is launching to highlight the wonderful, creative, interesting things women over fifty are doing. It’s a second coming of age, full of new opportunities and growth. When I turned fifty, my good friend Nora Ephron toasted me and said,” I’m here to tell you great things happen after you turn fifty. I didn’t direct my first picture until I was fifty.” Look what Nora accomplished with her career. Taking her advice, I leaned into music and put out my first album in my fifties. I listened to my wise friend and my heart. I’m proud to be a part of the Q50 collective of women leaders to bring in this new era!”

  • She added, “To celebrate, I wrote my new song, 'Set You Free' with Lindgren and Melanie Fontana, about freeing yourself to believe that you can do extraordinary things, with each day giving us new opportunities. I have always said that it’s never too late to try something new or do what you love. Set yourself free and be just what you be.”
