SkyDxddy Releases New Song “Why Do I Stay?”
American singer-songwriter SkyDxddy released a new song “Why Do I Stay?” on February 23, 2024.
This time, SkyDxddy worked with producer Alex Kade, who co-wrote and produced the track.
The song is the follow up to “7 Years”, which was released last December.
The track is a dark-pop anthem with an unrestrained tale of confronting a toxic relationship.
The lyrics are calling out the toxicity in a relationship, and taking a stand when enough is enough.
SkyDxddy said of the song, "I hope If anyone takes anything from this song... if you're in a toxic relationship... if they manipulate, gaslight, or love bomb you, if they make you question your self-worth for even a second... leave".- She struggles with mental health issues, for which she was diagnosed as having PTSD, anxiety, and depression and she has found a way to start to heal from her trauma through her music by delivering filter-less anthems of empowerment.
She said, “People ask, 'When are you going to write happy stuff?' There's so much trauma that I'm uncovering in therapy that I feel like it's always a new topic that people haven't even uncovered yet. I feel very ready and eager to start bringing awareness to these topics that I know affect so many more people, not just me.” -
SkyDxddy will support American alt-pop trio We Three's the LOVE ME TOUR in April. The tour kicks off at Subterranean in Chicago, IL on April 3 and will concluded at Brooklyn Bowl, Nashville, TN on April 28, 2024.
