Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Casey McQuillen released the first single of 2024 called “Talk in My Head” on February 9, 2024.
The song delves into the intricacies of a fading relationship, offering a raw and honest portrayal of love's complexities.
It was written by Casey McQuillen, and Kenny Pearson, produced by Charles Humenry.
Casey McQuillen said of the song, “I wrote 'Talk in My Head' song with my good friend Kenny Pearson whom I met at Berklee College of Music over 10 years ago. Some songs take a very long time to write, but we finished this song in about an hour and a half. We started with the idea of how confusing it would be to have a lover that everyone else adored, but who didn't treat you well. This is a song about those doubts that start to creep into your head late at night when a relationship is no longer full of love.”
She continued, “With this song, I wanted to focus on the pressure women sometimes feel to 'never throw away a good hand' and stay with a partner just to not be alone, even if deep down it doesn't feel right. I think we nailed the subtlety, confusion, and loneliness of that dynamic. I hope that if someone hears this song and relates to it, they might feel motivated to reflect on their relationship and what they truly want.”- Casey McQuillen will support Scottish singer Marti Pellow's tour in March.
The tour kicks off at 3 Arena in Dublin on March 10 and will conclude at Resorts World Arena in Birmingham on March 31, 2024.
