girl in red Releases New Song “Too Much”
Last month, Norwegian singer-songwriter Marie Ulven, aka girl in red announced that her sophomore album “I'M DOING IT AGAIN BABY!” would be released on April 12, 2024 via Columbia Records.
The album is her first body of work in three yeas since the 2021 debut album “If I Could Make It Go Quiet” and comprises a 10-track.
It is her first release under her new label Columbia Records, who signed to her in 2022.
Marie Ulven told DORK about the album last year, “This is just the beginning. I'm finishing the best album ever made. It's still a very eclectic record. The first one was all over the place, and some people said that was my weakness, but absolutely not. All those songs had strong identities, and I'm doing the same thing on this record.”
From the album, she released the first single called “Too Much” on February 9, 2024.
The track was written and produced by Marie Ulven, and Matias Tellez.
The accompanying music video was directed by Fiona Jane Burgess.
girl in red shared on social media, “My first song in what feels like FOREVER.”
- girl in red said of the song, “I’ve always been told I’m too much. Throughout my whole childhood and in my adult years. Getting shut down when I’m at my happiest or most excited made me feel self-conscious, alienated, and weird.”
She continued, “It wasn’t until I encountered the same feeling in my relationships, that I realised how much it actually hurt me to never feel fully accepted for who I am. As well I think culturally people tend to be too cool to have fun or to show true excitement and emotions, and I’m so tired of that facade.”
