Paris Paloma Premieres New Song “my mind (now)” on BBC Radio 1
British singer-songwriter Paris Paloma premiered a new song “my mind (now)” on BBC Radio 1's Future Artists with Jack Saunders.
The song is the first single of 2024, following released of “drywall” last October.
The track was written by Paris Paloma and produced by Justin Glasco.
The accompanying music video was directed by Matthew Grass, who also created the previous video for “drywall”.
Paris Paloma said of the song, “my mind (now) is about the BC and the AD of trauma, and what it did to my mental state, the feeling that an event was so cataclysmic that it rearranged the chemical makeup of my mind. The song is a reflection of my struggle with OCD and anxiety as a response to traumatic events, and the electrical storm of emotions that exists inside my head, filling it with noise that never seems to leave, as I search for a few seconds of respite and quiet from it. It is also about the power other people hold to set that trauma into motion, and both the fragility and strength of the human mind. 'my mind (now)' is an embodiment of theact of creation in the form of art and writing as a coping mechanism that comes out of the overwhelming noise and chaos of the mind.”
- Paris Paloma told Jack Saunders about the song, “This song is kind of an embodiment of my generalized anxiety and a lot of this struggles I've been through in the past year and that kind of moment where you realize that something that you're going through will change you fundamentally. It's fun topic but also fun to cathartic to write about.”
Paris Paloma will support British singer-songwriter Maisie Peters' European tour in February.
The tour kicks off at De Vooruit in Ghent, Belgium on February 13, 2024 and will conclude at Palladium in Cologne, Germany on February 28, 2024.
