Logan Richard Teams Up With Moira & Claire for New Song “Unrequited Love Blues”
Charlottetown-based singer-songwriter Logan Richard teamed up with Nova Scotia-based indie folk-pop duo Moira & Claire to release a new song “Unrequited Love Blues” on January 12, 2024.
This marks the first collaboration between Logan Richard and Moira & Claire. But Moira & Claire covered Logan Richard's song “Lover Again” in 2019.
For Logan Richard, the song is the first release since the March 2023 singles “Learning To Love”, “See Me Like This”, and “In the Days To Come”.
Meanwhile, Moira & Claire joined in the song after releasing a single “Secret Handshakes” last October.
The track was written by Claire MacMullin, Logan Richard, and Moira MacMullin. Produced by Colin Buchanan.
Logan Richard said, “'Unrequited Love Blues' is my new duet with Moira & Claire, about two people who love each other, but don’t know that the other person feels the way that they do. We were inspired by the tragic idea of unrequited love, that it will never be anything more. Producer Colin Buchanan transformed the soft acoustic demo into a pop bop. The subject matter is rather bleak and sad, but this song makes me feel the opposite - I can’t help but groove along as I listen.”- Moira & Claire said, “'Unrequited Love Blues' is a very special song for us. Not only is it our first collaboration with another artist, but we've looked up to Logan for many years. His song “Lover Again” has been a favorite of ours for a long while - we even posted a cover on our Instagram in 2019. He had commented that it was the “first time [he had] ever heard someone sing one of [his] songs” so it's come full circle.”
