boygenius Performs “Not Strong Enough” on BBC Radio 6 Music Live Session
American indie rock band boygenius, consisting of Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus, appeared on BBC Radio 6 Music Live Session to perform “Not Strong Enough”.
Also, boygenius named one of BBC Radio 6 Music's Artists of the Year and recorded an exclusive live set for BBC Radio 6 when they were over in the UK.
“Not Strong Enough” was released as the second single from their debut album “The Record” back in March.
Lucy Dacus told Genius about the song, “As it was shaping up, I think that the song was looking like it was just going to only be about having a little bit of mental illness. Just being like, I don't know, like, I'm frustrated that my brain works how it does. So, I was like, “Okay, yeah, what's gonna be more expected of us than us writing about hating our own brains?” And then, I think it got more special to me when the element, like, Phoebe has expressed it as self-hatred plus having a God complex – like, sometimes, you feel like you're the best thing ever –, and both of these states can be happening at the same time.”
