  • Daughtry Releases New Song “Artificial”

  • American rock band Daughtry, consisting of Chris Daughtry (lead vocals), Josh Steely (guitar), Brian Craddock (guitar), Elvio Fernandes (keyboards), Marty O'Brien (bass), Jeremy Schaffer (drums), announced the band signed to Big Machine Records earlier this month.

“Chris Daughtry is one of the best voices in rock music, hands down,” Big Machine Label Group Chairman and CEO Scott Borchetta said in a statement. “He is attacking this season of life full-on with a renewed fire and intensity to everything he touches.”
“I am so thrilled to be working with Scott and the entire Big Machine crew on this next record and beyond,” the band frontman Chris Daughtry added. “It's very refreshing and exciting to have a team behind me that fully believes and supports my vision.”
The band released a new song “Artificial” on August 11, 2023. It is their first single under their new label.
  • The track was written by Chris Daughtry, Marti Frederiksen, and Scott Stevens. Produced by Scott Stevens and Marti Frederiksen.
The song is the follow-up to a cover of Journey's “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)” featuring Lzzy Hale.
“'Artificial' is about the potential nightmare that AI could become and the idea that everything and everyone could eventually be replaced, essentially to perfection, and rendered obsolete,” Chris Daughtry said of the song. “However, the heart and soul of humanity and the ability to feel love, sadness, and compassion can never be replaced. While there are plenty of applications where AI can improve our lives and assist in many areas of creativity, I feel it's imperative that we find a way to protect our musicians, actors, writers, and all creative outlets from being destroyed.”
