  • The Japanese House Premieres New Song “Sunshine Baby” on BBC Radio 1

  • British alt-pop singer-songwriter Amber Bain, aka The Japanese House released a new song “Sunshine Baby” on May 18, 2023.

The song received its first play during BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The track is the third single off of The Japanese House's upcoming sophomore album “In the End It Always Does”, which is set to be released on June 30, 2023.
It was written by Amber Bain, and produced by George Kraemer, George Daniel (The 1975), and The Japanese House.
The accompanying live performance video was directed by Sheila Johansson.
Also, British rock band The 1975's Matty Healy kioined in the song as backing vocals.
“'Sunshine Baby' is my nickname for my dog, and my ex and I always used to lay on the beach together being sunshine babies,” Amber Bain said of the song in a statement. “The chorus is kind of a submission to the end of our relationship, but singing it in a positive light. There's a transience in every part of a relationship, and in the circle of everything it comes back around.”

Amber Bain shared on social media, “My new album 'In the End It Always Does' is out June 30th!! So happy with this album, I can't wait for you all to vibe… Was such a pleasure to make it, with my friends, lots of them, popping in and out, in the sunshine, in the rain, in the middle of the day, in the middle of the night, hackney wick, always laughing, a million busaba takeaways, beers on the canal at 4, the little Italian restaurant, crying a lot in the mornings, walking round trying to think of the words, to put in the songs, to say in real life, coming back inside, the end of a chapter, hundreds of new ideas, joni jones, circling round, again and again, the circle is spinning so fast you can't see it's moving at all.”
