Wilmette Releases New Song “Playing Dead”
Chicago-based pop-punk band Wilmette released a new song “Playing Dead” on April 18, 2023.
The song is the first taste from their upcoming debut album, which is expected to be released in the Summer of 2023.
The track was written by Griffin Guge, Aidan Hailey, Aaron Hailey, and Brompton Jackson. Produced by Seth Henderson.
The accompanying music video was directed by Alex Zarek.
The band frontman Aaron Hailey said of the song, “After a long break from writing, 'Playing Dead' was the first song we wrote together in over a year since our previous release. Much of the song came together in the studio, with the help of our producer Seth Henderson at ABG.”
Hailing from the Chicago suburbs, Wilmette combines pop-punk and hardcore with a fresh style that relies on pop hooks, honest lyrics, and strong musicianship. The band released the debut EP “Anxious Body” in 2019.
