Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ BERWYN Premieres New Song “Bulletproof” on BBC Radio 1
London-based Trinidad-born rapper Berwyn Du Bois, aka BERWYN premiered a new song “Bulletproof” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The song is the follow-up to “3450”, which was released last December.
The track was written by Berwyn Du Bois, Jonny Coffer, Jamie Scott, and Ben Ash. Produced by Two Inch Punch.
BERWYN said of the song, “I put the unconditional love I have for my family into musical form. This one’s personal 🕊 Bulletproof is a letter to my family. If they need me, I’m there. I’d die for them 🖤”
He continued, “Bulletproof is less about me and more about the people around me. It’s another part of my personality. I’m willing to do anything for the people around me, it kinda revolves around that. It also highlights the challenges I face and exposes me as an individual with troubles. Relationships are a give and take, have my back and I’ll have yours because I’m not safe, I will need help and I’ll be more than willing to return the favour. I guess that is what Bulletproof represents to me.”- He added, “'Bulletproof'. I don't know just like, how to love in a family situation like a gangstar, you know what I'm saying? I don't care what the situation is, I'm doing it. Even if it's the ceiling of life, the floor of life, it don't matter where it is. I'm down to ride regardless of cost. I don't know if I'll die from this bullet, but I'm willing to found out. To the point where, I'm not questioning anything, I'm acting, you get what I'm saying? It's just about unrequited, unconditional love to the fullest, like absolutely there's no conditions. No questions. You need me, I'm there, I'll die for you. With a smile on my face too, you know what I'm saying?”
