  • New York-based alt-rock band Earthquake Lights, consisting of Myles Rodenhouse (vocals/keyboard), Stephen Helms (drums), James DiGirolamo (bass), Cam Underhill (guitar) and Evan Douaihy (lead guitar), released their sophomore album “Desert Bloom” on February 17, 2023.

It is their first album in four years since the 2019 album “Distress Signals”.
The album comprises 9-track, produced by Myles Rodenhouse, and written by Myles Rodenhouse, James DiGirolamo, Evan Douaihy, Cameron Underhill, and Stephen Helms.
The debut album “Distress Signals” exploring being marooned out at sea. While “Desert Bloom” takes its name from the rare and momentary growth and flourishing of plant life in the desert.
On the album, they blend alt rock with orchestral elements, exploring further territories.
Myles Rodenhouse said of the album, “It is very much a record of deadlines and pushing our creative process forward. It was tough but really important and healthy for us because we found out a bit about ourselves and how we create.”
  • Also the album includes the single “Another Star”, which is inspired by the spacecraft Voyager. The band explained, “It's something that was once so relevant but has become dated and now exists far removed from anything that truly cared about it.
The band is about exploring new frontiers both imaginatively and within one's own self.
The album even explores new frontiers like space with “Another Star” which essentially is a feeling of being forgotten.
