American singer-songwriter Mackenzie Ziegler, aka kenzie released a new song “paper” along with a music video on January 13, 2023.
The song is the follow-up to “100 degrees”, which was released last October.
The track was written by Mackenzie Ziegler, Dan Henig, and Jonny Shorr. Produced by Phil Simmonds.
The accompanying video was directed by Boni Mata, who also created the previous music video for “100 degrees”.
Mackenzie Ziegler told PAPER about the song, “It's is about seeing your significant other move on to someone else. I feel like a lot of people compare themselves to their ex-boyfriend's new partner or ex-girlfriend's new partner when they get into a new relationship. I know I've done it. I've definitely stalked my ex's new girlfriends. I feel like everyone has, so I really wanted to make a song about it.”
She continued, “It has a really special place in my heart. I love this song. I actually recorded the song two years ago and I'm so glad that it's finally coming out. I love music video and the whole concept. It's been a long time coming.”
Mackenzie Ziegler is known as a younger sister of Maddie Ziegler, who is a dancer for Sia's music video for “Chandelier”.- source : Apple Music
