Adam Lambert Announces New Album “High Drama”, Shares Cover of Duran Duran's “Ordinary World”
American singer-songwriter Adam Lambert announced his forthcoming new album “High Drama”, which will be released on February 24, 2023.
It is his first album in three years since 2020 album “Velvet” and is also his first covers album.
The album comprises 11-track, featuring covers of Bonnie Tyler, Sia, Duran Duran, Ann Peebles, Lana Del Rey, Culture Club, Kings of Leon, P!nk, Spencer Davi and Noël Coward.
“It's a fun challenge to figure out a way of doing a 180 with a song,” Adam Lambert explained in a statement. “This album is a foray into my world. Over the past decade, I've explored a few different areas and sounds and energies, and I feel like part of this new chapter in my career is me being really clear on who I am, and what I am, and what I'm not. I think that's all coming out in these tracks.”
From the album, he released a cover of Duran Duran's “Ordinary World” as the second single along with a music video, following Noël Coward's “Mad About the Boy”.
The original version of the song was released by British rock band Duran Duran from their self-titled album in 1993.
The song reached No. 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and No. 6 on the UK Singles chart.- N92SdfUyARg

“The idea came up to do an album of covers, and I haven't done that before,” Adam Lambert told Yahoo Entertainment about the album in an interview. “I've done that on Idol, obviously – and Queen is essentially sort of a covers situation, even though I'm in the band. It was like a real nice challenge to go, 'OK, let's find songs' – some are obscure, some are new, some are really well-known – 'that we think are cool, and flip them and make them sound entirely different if we can.'”-
