The 2023 IHF Men's Handball Championship announced the official song of WC 2023 on November 18, 2022.
The song is called “Stick Together” by Polish singer-songwriter Alicja Szemplińska, aka Alicja.
The track was written by Jade Ell, Alicja Szemplińska, and Joakim Buddee who also produced it.
The accompanying music video was directed by Grzegorz Gołaszewski.
“Stick Together is about the strength that exists in us and that together we can do everything, achieve success and win,” Alicja said of the song. “I would love this track to empower handball players. I know how much time, dedication and work it costs to prepare for such a championship and I really admire everyone who will play at Polish and Swedish pitches in January.”
Alicja recorded the song in Stockholm. She said, “My stay in Stockholm was a very inspiring time for me. A few songs were created during our sessions, but we felt unanimously that Stick Together would be it.”
Alicja will perform the song at the Opening Ceremony in Katowice on January 11, 2023.- Tournament Director Grzegorz Gutkowski said, “The championship is organized by two countries divided by the sea, so teamwork will be the key to success – just like in sports. We want to stick together: as organizers, fans, friends of handball. We believe that the piece prepared by Alicja and Joakim will appeal primarily to a younger audience and will help build interest in the tournament, which is the greatest event in the history of Polish handball.”
The 2023 IHF Men's Handball Championship will take place in Poland and Sweden from January 11 to 29, 2023. - source : The 2023 IHF Men's Handball Championship
