  • Julia Michaels Releases New Song “Sorry To Me Too”

  • American singer-songwriter Julia Michaels released a new song “Sorry To Me Too” on November 11, 2022.

Julia Michaels shared on social media, “I thought right before my birthday felt like a good time to share a piece of my heart with y'all ❤️ thank you to everyone that's already shared snippets of it and made videos. You've asked me everyday when it's coming and now you know ❤️
The track was written by Julia Michaels, and Ian Kirkpatrick who also produced it.
The song is about breaking up with Canadian singer-songwriter JP Saxe. Back in September, he released “When You Think Of Me”, which is also about their breakup.
Julia Michaels said of the song, “The new music I have coming is me going through the grieving process of a breakup. You’ll hear me working out what happened, where it went wrong, trying not to blame myself, and getting back to life without this person who I thought would be in it for a really long time.”
She continued, “'Sorry To Me Too,' captures that disbelief and anger phase. Like, ‘You say you’re sorry?’ Well, I’m sorry to me too for believing all your bullshit and in the promises that you gave me and told me that I clinged to — that I thought were real.”
  • Recently, Julia Michaels was listed up for the 2023 Grammy Awards' new category Songwriter Of The Year.
In addition to Julia Michaels, non-classical list includes such major names as Desmond Child, James Fauntleroy, Natalie Hemby, Hillary Lindsey, Shane McAnally, and Justin Tranter.
Nominees will be announced on November 15, 2022.
Julia Michaels shared about the 2023 Grammy Awards on social media, “I'm not this person usually. Not a person that believes in myself enough to post something like this. I know how political this all gets. I know that there are so many incredible songwriters being considered for this (and that deeply deserve it too) but here I am, telling my imposter syndrome to step aside and am asking for your consideration for the first ever SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR AWARD, non classical at the 2023 Grammys. All I've ever known is songwriting. It's been my escape, my best friend and my security blanket for as long as I can remember. I've had the honor of writing with and for so many amazingly talented artists, some of which for over the last 10 years of my life. Even when I became an artist, writing for and with other artists was never out of the question for me. It has and will always be my first love. I'm so grateful I get to wake up everyday and do what I love with people I love. This is the first time in Grammy HISTORY that songwriters are getting the recognition they've worked so hard for and it would be the most amazing feeling in the entire world and the highest honor to be nominated for something I have cried for, fought for, learned for, not slept for and deeply fell for. Regardless, I'll be cheering on the songwriting community and I will be so so proud of whomever wins this first Grammy for songwriter of the year. Thank you for your consideration ❤️
